I have long ignored the News Section of my website and will start trying to get it up to speed
Lenticular 3D design of the Louis Markoya, Strange Attractors show at W&L University, Lexington, VA. Feb 16th-March 20 with a special artists talk on March 4th at 5:30PM.
If you are a fan of Dali, Markoya, fractals, surrealism, 3D, short film, 3D printing or where modern art is headed, you should find a way to get there.
The Gallerie is part of the school, and as such more or less follows school hours for its being open. Daily 9am-5pm, no weekends.
The one late night will be Wednesday, March 4th for the artists talk, which will have a catered reception.
Announcment 7. Return to Fairfield Library Show after 34 years
“The Triumph of Intellect” – a one-man art exhibition by Louis Markoya, former collaborator and protégé of Surrealist master Salvador Dali, intended to explore the mysteries of the mind – will be held November 19 – December 31, 2016 at the Bruce S. Kershner Art Gallery in the Fairfield Public Library, Fairfield, Connecticut. Reception with meet the artist will be held on December 3.
Markoya’s evolution of his mentor Salvador Dali’s innovations can be seen in his leveraging of fractal science and lenticular lens technology. In his later years, Dali opened up new visual doors, too, through the use of holography and stereoscopy. “I have evolved Surrealism and Dali’s love of science to develop a new and unique art form,” Markoya says. “I want to stimulate the intelligence of the viewer. It’s my sincere hope,” Markoya continues, “that I can contribute to the growth of curiosity and mind expansion through my art.”
Some 30 works will be on exhibition, whose hours are Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; closed Sundays. A reception is scheduled December 3. For more information, contact the gallery at (203) 256-3155.

Announcment 6. Washington & Lee Show
01/30/2015 Its been over a year since my last update to the news section of the site and I apologize for the delay. During that year I have been working my butt off to make the upcoming show at Washington & Lee University, Lexington, VA a complete smash, and brain enhancement drug. The show will feature 2 original works by Dali, never seen by the general public, and that alone would make the show a must see, but there is soooo much more.
I will have 18 original oils, 4 oil painted statues, 3 sculptures, 2 modified old master prints, and 10 lenticular works. While the work encompasses my entire career, the greatest part is recent work relating both to fractal geometry and neural networks.
In addition to the above works, to be shown either in the gallery or the lobby area (the number of my works did not fit in the gallery) there will be a 55" stereo 3D television specially procured to show the 3D short film of the same name as the show (Strange Attractors). The movie will run continuously in the gallery and is a journy inside the human mind to depict for the first time the geometry and architecture of thought and neural networks. This is a passive 3D experience and will require the viewer to wear plastic glasses as you would at a 3D film at the theater.
Last but not least, I have also partnered witht he computer lab at W&L to product really wonderful 3D prints of 3D fractals. Some of these appear by themselves, but the Pièce de résistance consiste of a 3D fractal chess set, complete with a LED illuminated lenticular 3D chess board, perhaps the most beautiful chessboard made.
The show runs from Feb. 16th- March 20th, with a special artists talk on March 4th at 5:30 with a catered reception to follow. I hope to see some of you there, and I promise the talk will be as special as the show itself.
Announcment 4. Store Opens
8/18/2013 I am very pleased to open a store section to my site. Not just to be able to offer prints of my works, but that they are completely unique, 3D and of amazing quality. Like Dali, I am happy to blaze a new trail in art history, to bring these works to everyone at a price almost anyone can afford, and have pride in owning something so different and exciting. Check out the new 3D lenticular works and own some art that will surprise and delight you.
While almost all pieces on the site are for sale, I am especially pleased to bring you this new technology. For availability or pricing on originals or Dali material, please contact me through the contact page or simply write an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Serious inquiries only please.
Announcment 5. Thanksgiving Announcement
11/26/2013 On this Thanksgiving day I'd like to take a moment to publicly say how very thankful I am for all the wonders of life. In particular to my wife, family and friends, and extended family of the art and fractal communities. There is so much to marvel at and be thankful for in life that it is difficult to even start, but I openly express thanks to life and all of you whom I've had the pleasure to come in contact with, whenever and however. I will also take this opportunity to let you all know that the Staniar Gallery at Washington & Lee college in Lexington Virginia has invited me to hold a one man exhibit (the first in 40 years!) starting January 2015. While plans for the show will solidify soon I can say I promise a spectacular show. For now I can tell you it will be curated by Dr. Elliot King, Dali scholar and professor of the arts at W&L, and it will exhibit some original Dali works never before shown to the general public from my own collection. Keep an eye on the News section of my website for new developments on this very exciting show.
Announcment 3. National Scholastic Judge
2/9/2013 I will be in Manhattan the first few days of next week as I have been asked to be a Judge in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for the National level. I will be judging the painting category, and the awards are given to students in High School to encourage them to remain creative and in the arts. Scholarships are given in a number of categories. It's actually an honer to be chosen as such illuminaries as Andy Warhol, Truman Capote, Andy Rooney, Paula Poundstone, Chuck Palahniuk and Tony Hawk have all been judges for the National level.
Announcment 2. Fractal Forums Calendars
I wanted everyone to know of the spectacular Fractal Calendar that is put out by www.fractalforums.com. I am happy to say for the second year the January spot features one of my works. Last year a version of my iEar fractal was used, and this year the calendar features a reproduction of my oil painting "The Aural Ecstasy of Beethoven’s Deaf Ear". While the calendar is quite expensive, it is full of beautiful examples of 2d and 3d fractals. You can find a link here to purchase it if you like
Announcment 1. Welcome to the site!!!
The creation of this site is the big news of the day. Web sites are a lot like art in that there are good and bad websites, it all comes down to content. Here I have tried to pull together as much info as possible and will continue to try and make it interesting. Check out the site, there are many useful and interesting links. Many icon sized images are links, most images have info and notes on them when they are enlarged. Let me know what you think and what else you might like to see in the comment section, and if you'd like to be kept aware of new posts, new paintings and site advancements be sure to sign up for the mailing list. I'm proud of what there is here already, and I look forward to seeing it grow into something even better.
