Zac Brown Text

Country Artist Zac Brown is not just a collector of fine art and a spectacular showman, but a lover of Salvador Dali, and that love brought him to my work, which he fortunately loved. At the time, I was represented by a gallery in Las Vegas, Animazing, whose owner knew Zac and got in touch with him to introduce him to the art of Dali's protege. Zac bought several small pieces and later two large paintings, David's Dream and Evening Dream. Zac contacted me to tell me he loved my art and some time later invited me to see him live, where he told me of his dream album and an idea for me to produce art for it. I was initially supposed to produce a painting for each of the 10 songs that were on the album. At this time, the album was to be called Love and War, and I developed a cover idea of a heart-shaped building that has been bombed out in war. The cover idea was made into a morphing lenticular, which changes from a heart of roses to the bombed out building heart...my vision of Love and War. Zac provided me with previews of the songs, which I started working on after discussing the topics in them with him, and I produced paintings for three, but one image I developed, which Zac loved because it resembled Carravagio with a touch of Dali, so I challanged Zac to develop a song based on the image, art inspiring art in the opposite direction. The image turns out to be the cover image for Love and Fear, the upcoming album for the Zac Brown Band, and a pivotal image for the Zac Brown Sphere Show in Las Vegas. It is an apocalyptic image of the battle between good and evil.
As our relationship grew and we became friends, Zac asked me to paint a few guitars for him. The three I completed were part of his exclusive custom-built Gretsch collection.
Over time, I worked on several projects that were not realized. Of the 50 or more T-shirt designs I did for different tours, only one was realized; others passed by as my designs all required full color printing, which drove printing prices up and profits down.
I worked on probably a hundred or more band backdrops, which were never used, but I was always willing to try my best to add special elements to the band visuals.
Being a friend and a brother to Zac, I have also created and presented an engagement gift to him and Kendra Scott...the last project I currently have done for him.
