The years I was working with Dali were difficult during the months Dali was in New York, as I was working in a firearms factory and would be covered in oil and bluing by the end of the day. I would run home, shower, and hop on a train to get into Manhattan as soon as possible, many times without the shower or changing. As stated somewhere else, many days I would be escorted to a small studio room in the St Regis, where Dali would give me instructions and disappear, many times never returning, and I would work till it got late or finish the task. While the many months that Dali was not in New York were much easier, I was given the task of finding new projects to work on, and I took this very seriously, as Dali was a heavy influence, and I took my mentor to heart. Between this and work, I did not paint all that much. While the works here are the majority of what was accomplished during this period, it is far from complete, and these are all I have found records of. I would often send drawings, ideas, and gifts to Dali at his home in Port Lligot, and the Fairfield, CT, post office workers would always start chatter when I entered the line, as the items for Dali were always wrapped in Velvet, Satin, Silk, or wool, covered in ants, butterflies, and all sorts of ornaments. Working with Dali was difficult, as he was extremely difficult, but I still loved the genius that he was. Working with and watching him, my skills progressed, and I was happier with my output and technique.
