Fractal Interpritations of Masterwork Text
Before I started designing pictures utilizing fractals of my own composition, I tried fitting fractal elements to several classical paintings to test their adaptability. What attracted me to the Mandelbulb fractals to begin with is I immediately recognized the vast geometry possibilities. I felt its complexity would allow me to depict the mind and thought, but also to replace key elements in classical paintings to test their adaptability. My relationship with Dali had me first start by replacing the figures in The Angelus. Successful in that I went on to adapt different fractals and fractal types to Raphael, Velázquez, Michelangelo, and even Degas. (Picasso would have been far too easy) Proving my theory and allowing me to utilize them to go further in my own designs. Here are some of the paths taken.
